Miguel Bastida, from Andalusia to the biggest clubs

Miguel Bastida is one of these artists living a dazzling but mastered career. He started at the age of 14 working for the local radio of Ahlama de Granada, the beautiful village he is coming from, between Granada and Malaga, Spain. At the same time, he began DJing, thanks to the owners of the village’s nightclub, who lent him decks to play. His musical culture grew progressively, despite practical constraints that we maybe forgot today: Internet didn’t exist at the time and Miguel needed a one-hour motorbike ride to get to the closest record shop in Granada. Influenced by full of energy music, he used to feed his ears with Trance, Hard Techno, House, Breakbeat, Drum and Bass, etc.

In 2005, during his first trip to Ibiza, the epicentre of electronic music, Miguel Bastida discovered a whole new world pretty far from the one he had always known, and he just never left it. Thereupon, thanks to the development of Internet – and particularly MySpace, the ancestor of Facebook and SoundCloud – Miguel Bastida built a real artist career, with his music is traveling beyond borders of his natal Andalusia. He settled down in Barcelona and his work was quickly supported by many prominent artists such as Dubfire, UMEK, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Joseph Capriati, Jamie Jones and Joris Voorn

Constantly hitting the road, the DJ has been increasingly asked abroad. He already played in the best clubs and festivals around the world, from New York to Bangkok, London, Berlin or Amsterdam and also in Mexico, Italia, etc.

Needless to say, Curiosity Music is very proud to welcome him for his very first gig in France on December 8, at the mythic Zig Zag Club, next to the Champs-Élysées avenue, in Paris. This night event that the great Gaiser will also star with a 90-minute-live is definitely “THE” rendezvous not to be missed for every Techno lovers, ready to party till early in the morning!

For those who wouldn’t know yet Miguel Bastida’s production, let’s listen to Misteria, one of the three tracks of his last EP entitled Misteryband and released on October 13 by Be One Records. Just enjoy it!
